A young bachelor wanted a modern penthouse with clean lines and warm colours. All non-essentials were removed from the site and the spaces were redesigned. There is a bedroom with a large bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, drawing room, gym, terrace and pool deck.
Located in New Delhi, India. The interior floor area is 219 sqm (2,355 sqft) and the exterior area is 213 sqm (2,290 sqft). The project was completed in Jun 2005. We designed the apartment in association with Y2:Space, Singapore. Landscape architecture by Belt Collins International, Singapore and Integral Designs. Structural engineering by GRC Structures. Services engineering by Integral Designs.

A small bar is set into an alcove on the way from the drawing room to the gym.

The wall between the wardrobes and the bathroom. The stone counter extends from one room into the next. The bathroom mirror is mounted on the wall floating above the counter. Glass separates the rooms.
The bathtub is set into the raised white marble floor. Adjacent to it is the glass shower enclosure. To the right, there is a separate enclosure for the toilet and bidet.
Sliding doors from the drawing room open out onto the terrace. Steps lead to the pool deck and further up to the barbecue area on the roof.
One wall of the terrace is covered with beige Dholpur sandstone and a wire trellis for plants to climb. Below is a shallow water channel.

The rooftop swimming pool is lined with blue mosaic tiles and surrounded with fine gravel. A frosted glass screen provides privacy from the neighbours.
An external staircase, made of steel and wood, connects the pool deck to the rooftop barbecue area.
